Cheers @vanzep looks to be of good quality, single piece, forged. Plus made in Japan for Hondas

Car got a quick clean today and it badly needed it with the salt on the roads up here so took the chance to take some pics, car exterior hasn't really changed much since I bought it with me focusing more on the mechanical side of things, bodywork plans are for next year

Hope you dont mind but im just going to add to the info on the Kaiten lightweight flywheel as its already in your build thread and your planning on fitting one yourself

after looking at the new fly and reading the instructions it went on about a pilot bearing that needed taken out the stock fly and put into the centre of the new one

so definative answer on the bearing is shown in the pics.
there is no pilot bearing in the traditional sense of the word in the stock H22 fly but there is a bushing or to be as accurate as possible it could be described as an split collar bushing material looks to be like that of an oilite bushing ie/ self lubricating phosphorous bronze. If your careful it just knocks out and can be tapped into place in the new fly - perfect fit.
This bushing doesnt move within the fly but acts more as a guide for the shaft that sits into it. I can see how some people would think there isnt a bushing there as it cant be seen when its on the crank as the collar is only visible from the back.
kaiten & 5th gen fly side by side

bushing out 5th gen fly

and bushing swapped over into Kaiten fly

Ive had a quick look and the bolt holes and pins on the outer edge of the fly all meet up but not everything else seems 100percent right - will need to have another look at it tomorrow

sorry to hog your thread @newkid
your lude looks good - proper batmobile

and can you bring your atr clutch round next time your passing by?

Flywheel looks good
Good to see the old girl is still knocking around, too.
Nice work on the flywheel research vanzep. I expect the bush is to make it easier to fit/remove, so the flywheel and crank pin don't seize together.

I was pretty impressed by this flywheel considering its price and that it is single piece forged chromoly.

That doesn't half look like my JUN flywheel:

The markings on mine are supposed to be from some heat treatment???

looks identical except for the finish

after calming down a bit i think it could be the same manufacturer/design but slighty different material spec and finish

@newkid brought his ATR clutch kit round earlier and we found everything does line up including both tdc and 15degree+/-2 markings - the thing that was throwing me off is that we found that the pressure plate holes line up slight different to the oem fly - assuming this is something to do with getting a better balance

markings on the jun fly are cool imo proper heat treating/annealing - think theyre know as quench marks
