It's an insurance write off from a commercial broken suspension look, though perfectly repairable in reality.

You should break it, leaving mine as the oldest 4th gen on here. :|

Yeah, no doubt the insurance company will write it off if it comes down to it. Should that be the case then I would look to buy it back as salvage and take the balance of the settlement. I've been given estimates of less than the cost of buying another Prelude to do the repair work. As you say LLL, it's just a case of brute forcing the crumpled part back in to shape. It'll never quite be the same again, but it's covered by trim and tbh this isn't a car that we're likely to consider selling any time soon, so I shouldn't think it will be a problem.

As it stands I've made my insurer aware of all the details, but have told them to hold off for the moment. The other driver was younger than me and wanted to pay for the damage, so I've given him the benefit of the doubt for now. It will probably be easier for all parties involved if we get the car repaired ourselves and he covers the cost. Should push come to shove though my insurer is in a position to take over the reigns, I really hope it doesn't come to that though as it's going to be more aggro for everyone involved.

I'm not breaking it, I've sourced too many rare bits to do that

Who's is the oldest btw, I think we might have tried to ascertain that before once??

Fingers crossed it all goes ok.

Rich at PAW's lude is an early J plate too, IIRC.

Yeah, it's my BB4 that only recently went back on the road after being laid up for 2 years or so :(

Spoke to the other party today, we're all sorted so I'll get the car in the body shop as soon as possible :)

All will be well!
