The different colours on the spring aparantly indicate the spring rate and what they go on...

Brakes all done and bled,surprised how good they feel to the Bb4's pedal bite
Going to do it's next for sure.
Hoping for a first 'mini' drive tomorrow.
Started first time again tonight
The temp gauge went full on after 5 minutes and stayed that way,there was no chance it had hit that temp and so soon,especially after a 5 minute night time idle with the hood up and believe it or not it is a little cool here tonight been the 3rd day of Autumn
I went back to it 20 mins again and it was still on full temp display,anyone know where the temp switch is for the gauge or is it all in the fan switch itself?

It could be down to the size difference in the brake master cylinder. If your BB4 is non-ABS then it uses a 15/16" BMC Vs the 1" BMC and larger brake booster found in all other H22 Ludes. I put a 1" BMC in my BB4 and I felt that bite / braking performance did increase.Greg-SiR wrote:Brakes all done and bled,surprised how good they feel to the Bb4's pedal bite

Rad fan switch, instrument gauge temp sender and ecu coolant temp sender are all different sensors on the engine.
The latter 2 are on the side of the head, gearbox side, under the distributor. The service manual tells you exactly which is which.
I suggest also checking the coolant level and that it is properly bled and not air locked., as well as looking at the sender.

Both of them are non Abs surprisingly.

I have just done the coolant on it and bled it but will go back over it again

I seem to be getting places even if it's just small jobs but it's one more tick on the

All thats left of the plastic face

A plastic rivet sits in nice now.
Test drive around the block went well(first time i've physically driven it) brakes were good noisy on the back as to be expected,nice and responsive on throttle with smooth revs up no hesitations and good clutch bite,did notice alot of engine vibration on parking back up and exiting,could see the drivers door moving as i held it and the engine has more movement than should be so i guess mounts are been added to the jobs but ill put it in for test as is anyway.
I had to get 2 done on the bb4 for its test ,i remember the mechanic been quite pee'd off at the front one been a bit of a Pita.
Dash took apart,i'm not sure on the instrument cluster yet with it's fading and the sticky kmph needle,will tinker with it whilst out and see,might best to swap over for an El? cluster,is the newer digital one just plug and play?
Would like to keep the mileage though but lower would do

EL dials would not be plug and play, you need to alter the wiring slightly.

So i had 2 hours there and just found out whats better than dismantling 1 dash?well 2 of course
So i can cross off the temp/fuel gauge as the error as the bb4's done the same when i hooked it up,maxes out instantly on key turn then gradually 5 minutes or so comes back down then sits at the min consistently.
Switches and senders i will get a go at them next hopefully it's a small thing.
Stereo came on for the first time today,hadn't done before,i assumed wiring was cut from an Ice install,crappy speakers but still she goes!
Bb4 lost 10kg today too

Sadly Bb2 gained the excess 10kg but thats what happens when you start at the bottom of the food chain

@Greg-SiR, Hey Greg, how much of a faff is it to take out the instrument clusters and the plastic covers?
I'm going to be fitting a new petrol/temp gauge in the next week or so, and would like to share any 'do this', 'don't do this' or 'watch out for this' type information with my trusty Monkeay D'Grease.
