Hey JEBB4 the Sunshine coast is a good spot, probably 3-5 deg warmer than we have here on the GC

Think i will be keeping her tbh at this stage but your welcome to come down and get dirty fixing it and sharing some knowledge over a few cold ones ;)

You see many Ludes on the travels?
Yeah it is lovely here tbf.
will definately have to come down for a butchers soon :)

i seen a fair few 5th gens and 3rd gens but not a as many 4th gens, did see what looked like a smashed BB1 in a scrap yard up in northern QLD, wanted to stop and see what bits were on it
The scrapyard itch ,went to one near me kept advertising clearance prices on all prelude parts, the only near full car was a 5th gen the rest were all Civics etc,no 4G's.

The value of them nowadays for the trashed and crashed are not worth it for the scrappies anymore.

Another bunch i get to do some jobs on the car Hondarec i'd swear all they do is Jazz's,thats where the money is for them

Yeah i see equal 3g and 5g's but very little 4's in all the time on the coast.

The mayBb2 i bought here was near Sunshine coast,Caboolture, just over a 100k's north from me.

I heard that, tbh with the condition of the multispoke rims that won't be a big drama, overall they are good nick in fairness with some scuffing, pads are Ferodo Zero,$29 a pop seemed good and an unoticeable amount for the other half to see out of Paypal

Christmas giftcard for the local car shop went on coolant and flush, polish pads and some aesthetic enhancers and a Magic Tree :)

A 2 car budget can stretch a relationship :bat:

Camcover all cleaned up and painted, not a big fan of the wrinkle red after doing it on the other car but i have a can and a half to use so it happened again ;)

Too bright the Red after first doing but it does tone down nicely after useage.

Obviously looking a bit fresher than the rest of the bay at present but in time

Found out the Plumjob Cai has a K&N on the end,a little surprise, never seen K&N do this reverse funnel type,be interesting to hear it on throttle to say the least
Next is the leaking brake piston on the rear,O ring suspect, never done a pad change on the rear and the whole 'wind back in procedure' is new to me.

Yes i was hammering and wedging at it Doh!

Next Q is it easy enough to get just the O ring itself and do it or while it's out treat it to more like a kit?

I could probably swap it out from a wreckers cheaper than a kit route,4 years of 4th gens and never had an issue with this,or any of my older Hondas, would be put down to the Prelude's dormant time for sure.

[*]For some reason the pics won't show and on preview shows [IMG POO] ??
Tried to hosting sites, whats the story there?

I know i can talk poo but this is a bit much :x

Tamagotchi style

Started dismantling so far corrosion as to be expected, the main outer O ring actually isn't that bad after a clean,no cracks, still stiff but not over, was hoping it was this one as it's easy to get.

Still thinking me using the handbrake/brake with no pads on the few reverses i may have over stretched the piston out and with that gunk build up on the piston wall it could have breached the fluid..

One can hope,i will get it all cleaned and might chance just a reinstall either way it's all learning.

Was an 'autocorrect' gone wrong in the swear filter.

And agreed, that's a bit rusty!

Found a replacement off a 5th gen,good price too 8-)

Image

All back together, just need to pickup some brake fluid now.

Image

Plenty of thickness on the discs too.

Whilst down there i can see different coloured markings on the springs, anyone any idea why?

That's just the way the Oem springs are. Dunno why.
