When all the jobs are done i will gladly 8-)

Noted now jobs are bonnet release doesn't release or catch hood just sits on the lock mechanism which still has it's spring pressure, hoping it's not a cable snap along the line.
Drivers door handle doesn't open all the time from the inside and the whole handle and switch surround comes away from the door when pulled
I'm just happy to have this as the second one and take the time to get to at all the little probs, with the other car there was always a deadline as it was needed.
Hoping for a first start up latest Monday.
Any suggestions on the how to rid the fuel that may be lying in there all this time if any?yet to put a battery on it..
Got to do a full coolant flush beforehand too,it looks empty in the rad,i will take it out and go through the hoses too for ageing.

The car obviously has a few issues but nothing that a good bit of tinkering won't solve.. I'm sure you will have her road worthy in no time, maybe then I'll do a buy  .

I think I may have to come down to meet you and ogle at your ludes sometime in the next few months
If you come across any more like this (preferably JDM with a vtec lump) at this sorta price let me know aye 8-) ;)

Where are you located mate, you were on the Goldcoast?

Have you got time for a fixer upper?

That blacky you posted up on is a good one ;) plus this one would help you get over your loss if thats what you decide :D

So i swapped a battery yesterday and waited,it has an alarm with central locking(always after one for my whitey) so lights flashed,i did the lock open sequence on the fob all good there went to start as it had 2 bars of petrol on,turned but wouldn't stay on so i nipped out and got some fresh 98 and went at it again and voila it hummed away on the first turn.

No smoke 8-)

No Cel,all electrics are good, gauges are good except the temp one stayed at cold for the better of 10 minutes then came on to quarter then back to cold, not a biggy probably just a switch refusing to rise to it's job after being dormant for so long?

Speedo tach is faded bad and the needle sits at 20kms but yet to drive so maybe just stuck, hoping it works and the said kms are true.

I got to reverse in and out of the driveway a few times with little or no brakes and clutch bites good although not tested under load but good pressure on the peddle.

Leaked brake fluid doing this as the caliper is loosened as to uncease the wheel on the first day, just hoping we didn't bust the brake line whilst on the truck trying to hit the caliper

I managed to get the coolant flush done and had it run for 20 mins.

There is a bit of erratic idle but too early to start searching just yet.

Wheels were taken off and inflated and glad to see fronts are near new and rears not so far behind with no uneven wear.

Also found another piece of goodness on the rear

One of my pet hates are faded headlights so off to work sanding and polisher out again

Looks like a mini Australia on the lense

Also another ritual is to soak the mats, this speaks for itself

Overall happy so far, the start was a big bonus and to run without issues nearly for 20 mins+ after what i suspect has been more near 4 yrs lying up 8-)

Next

-See to brakes

-Engine and gearbox oil(noticed its an M2A4 non LSD  )

-pop off cam cover and check belt health, can see gasket sealer on cover so hoping it's had a recent one done or could have just been leaking, but with no history on the car only one way to find out.

I'm currently traveling but will be back "home" at the Sunshine Coast by the weekend which is where I will be living for the forseable..

I would definitely be keen to buy her mate, might be a month or two till I can afford it comfortably though as travelling has drained the finances abit and then I will have a visa to pay for which is stupidly expensive but I will keep my eye on the thread and if you need to get rid can I have first dibs?? ;)

But anyway I may have to come down the coast and have a look sometime in near future if your about.. Having some major lude withdrawal symptoms lately :?

2.3 down here too, looks like a swappy but then it has all the extras which look standard including the rear wiper which would really be a PITA to swap the rear glass out mount the washer jet etc,2ws too all Ausdm came with 4ws but that too can be swapped as we know, the there is the non sunroof too.

There are some hardy Jdm fans here that would go to this extreme to pull off the complete changer.

Engine is a H22A 1045... so on Wiki the H22A-1040001~ Si Vtec; Si Vtec-4WS(Jdm)

Unless it could have took on the identity of an Oz spec Bb2 to avoid revenue on registering, who knows, the owner was lost when i asked about the Personal import plate that my Bb4 has fitted.

I can check with my mate in Honda to see what the Vin throws up,that should settle it.

Better make sure it can be registered before i spend the same again in fixing it up :o

Hey JEBB4 the Sunshine coast is a good spot, probably 3-5 deg warmer than we have here on the GC

Think i will be keeping her tbh at this stage but your welcome to come down and get dirty fixing it and sharing some knowledge over a few cold ones ;)

You see many Ludes on the travels?
