My Mk5 i got for free to save!!
Post by weegarry41 » Sat Jan 16, 2016 8:12 pm
Where to start!
so this guy that stays in my street lost his son 10 years ago, and couldn't bring himself to get rid of his Lude, he used it for a while but it got to big for him (hes now 76), he put it away in his leaking garage allmost 3 years ago, I was out cleaning the mrs corsa and he asked if id look at his garage roof, I did and fixed it, it took me 20 mins, after he asked me how much I wanted, obviously I refused anything, he asked me if I wanted the car, i asked how much, he said i could have it, it would be nice for someone who loves cars to bring it back to glory, i was reluctant to take it but he was determind his sons pride and joy was brought back to life, it didn't start, it was mouldy inside and was green and covered in jobby outside, but after a new battery and ignition switch it started first turn of the key!, and now after almost 12 hours work cleaning and waxing this is how it sits......

very happy with it so far, the paint needs a lot of work, there is a couple of rust spots, deep chips and scratches, i think its looking like a respray, unsure what i want to do yet...

Yep, it looks really good well done.
Is it a full after market big bore you exhaust, or just the back box/tailpipe?
And yep, that's the motegi front/rear lips. Looks like it's missing the sides though?

What a nice first read of the morning
Well done you, I'm sure the old fella is delighted with his decision
