4th/5th Gen Control Arms Compatibility

Post by Greg-SiR » Fri Nov 20, 2015 12:05 pm

So after the new tyres on and 2 alignments later it seems the pothole incident is still out to get me as the car likes to stray right so i'm looking to swap out both control arms upper and lower and have sent an inquiry on an Ebayer selling one for a bb6 TypeS in the ad but it had Bb4 in the images on the item sprayed and they have since returned saying that they suit both gen's,can anyone confirm this?

Is there anything else i should be looking to exchange over too whilst at it?
Be ashame to do these 2 and get it back on the road to still find it straying :x

If it's the front uppers then they're not the same between gens. I can't say for the rears though.

Front uppers - different between 4th and 5th
Front lowers - same except type-s
Rear uppers - same but 5th have a strengthening plate
Rear lower - same except 5th has a different inner bush. This bush not sold separate but can be swapped for 4th gen bush that is
Trailing arms - same

Hope this helps

Type S upper front are different to standard 5th gens. They are slightly longer to give a tad more positive camber.
