I could only bleed the rears but just doing them made a huge improvement and I had a good peddle plus brakes worked great.
The front nipples had rounded off but I have now got some replacements so I can change and bleed them tomorrow.
Should I see bubbles etc in the spray? Or should the spray perhaps clean a blockage?
Do you have link to a pic on the car of the vacuum system?

Nah mate. Your engine sucks in air via the inlet manifold/carbs and there are a number of vacuum pipes which come off of that which operate a number of other auxiliaries/sensors. However if any of those vacuum pipes have got holes or splits in them the auxiliary item or sensor won't be working properly as the pipe will be drawing air in from the outside. This could potentially be causing your high emissions.
So in spraying carb cleaner around the area you're hoping the vacuum pipe with a hole in it will also draw the carb cleaner in and this will then make your idle speed drop, so you'll know roughly where your hole is... If there is one.
Note, a blown gasket around the inlet manifold/carbs or throttle body could also cause a vacuum leak.

Thanks Nathan
On quick inspection I have already found 2 splits. Would these add to my high warm idle / rough running / high emissions?
If so what pipes are they and where can I get replacements please?

Here is a pic of the resulting failed emissions test

And the MOT fail sheet

Front brakes need looking at - I hope to get to this tomorrow.
Front number is just sitting on the dash for now so I need to get it on properly.
Work required for omissions?
One of the rear reg plate lamps fell out so I need to attach this back up.
Battery insecure? I need to figure out a way of holding it down?

Probably most definitely the cause. They're definitely going to be causing idling and running issues.RobMorris wrote:On quick inspection I have already found 2 splits. Would these add to my high warm idle / rough running / high emissions?

Any vacuum hose of the right ID will do provided it isn't kinked too much that it pinches closed.

Thanks again - Would you happen to know the names of these exact pieces?
They appear to have a certain bend and quite thicker than the rest?
Or would a 'universal' replacement be OK? If so and ideas on the diameter?

I can't see exactly where they're connected. Do you have a picture from slightly further away (with arrows to them)?
Do the diameters change from one end to the other on each pipe?
I'd have to consult Lings, but can't at the moment.
@Wurlycorner do you know anyone breaking a carved 3rd gen?

I can't help more than this at the moment as I'm only on my phone, but if you search lingshondapart and search for install/pipe tubing (2) you'll find this lot...

You can edit the url address to give you the correct Honda part numbers as well. I can't recall exactly what you remove without seeing it though, so hopefully someone else can come along and advise on that
It's remove something like "-pjk" or something from the address. That might be the bit you leave though
Think there's a ".php" as well. Whichever, it's the first one
