Red carpet and seats

Post by MaccaIRL » Thu Oct 22, 2015 9:25 am

I'm probably gonna look like a tool here but if I start this and can't finish it before 1pm I'm up Sssh Creek with no paddles and a sinking boat lol

I've got the complete red interior minus the dashboard/glove box and im looking to fit the red carpet and seats today.

Can anyone give me a how-to and a rough time estimate?
Seats should be 4 bolts iirc but carpet I've no idea what needs to come out.

I assume centre console, seats and some door trim but is it glued on? Will I need to re glue it to the floor to keep it flat?

Cheers :o:o:o

Carpet and seats should take you no more than 30 mins. Hardest bit is negotiating the handbrake lever with the console, but it's easy. Just don't forget to disconnect the wire underneath it.

Disconnect what wire? Lol

Seats I can have done in no time from what I've seen.
Carpet looks to be really awkward tbh.

Is the carpet glued to the floor btw?

It's not rocket science tbh. There's a wire under the centre console, the only one, disconnect it. It goes to the handbrake IIRC. The carpet isn't glued. You may have to cut the tiny bit where it goes right under the dash. It is obvious when you start, give yourself and hour and you'll be fine.

If in doubt check the service manual. It will show you how to remove everything.
