1989 Carb engine high revs?

Some of them have "auxiliary carburettors", ie: auto-chokes. I think they're the sort with their own little float chamber. Might be a good place to start?

This is the fast idle screw - Turning the screw made no effect to the revs. I assume the spring should be pushing the pieces apart to bring the revs down?

Interesting to hear they are motorcycle carbs. Kehin PD...? Probably means it has manual cable operated choke as well.

Only just watched the video. If you turn the bolt further than you did, does it not start compressing the spring, pulling the 2 levers closer together? If so... Is the spring maybe not still working absolutely fine? Not meant to push them further apart???

I tried that - the pieces had fused together and actually needed to be forced apart. I did this using long nose pliers against the bottom part and head of the screw.

Cold tickover now at 1200ish revs
