Re: BB4 15 Years gone by

Post by vanzep » Mon Oct 19, 2015 2:11 pm

Whilst i was arranging insurance for the lude i found the original invoice from when i put the deposit down on the 9th of October 2000 - so 15 years gone by - i picked it up and paid the balance on the 25th. :)
I remember thinking the car felt really special to drive compared to the Civic Vti i had been running and was already a big fan of the vtec power unit.

So to celebrate i undersealed it  still trying to keep the rust at bay and not doing too bad a job to be honest ;)

Got a couple of small upgrades ready to fit early next year...

pagid front discs and redstuff pads (not bad for £52)

polybushed konis

just need to get the missing fourth one from @indigolemon and the front springs from storage at @merlin
to complete the set.

whiteline rear arb and new drop links - though im not convinced that the droplinks are as good as the jdm/oem pressed steel ones which are on the car :? also thinking the whiteline rear arb mounts look a bit puny so might splash out and get a es poly kit to replace them.

reinforced 5th gen rear upper wishbones - thanks to @newkid for getting me these :)

Awesome 8-)
And yep, mega rep for having the car so long and sticking with it all :hail:

:? strange purchase price for the car though (ending with a £15)! Was that the window price, or is that the bizarre effect of some hard haggling?

I don't think you have anything to worry about with the RARB drop links. I have those on my 4th gen and I haven't broken them yet!

Give me a call and we can go down and get those springs ;)

some haggling - but i only got £375 off the ticket price which was £8500  and of course was minus the trade in prce for the civic.

cheers for the kind comments :)

Some epic upgrades here bud, those 5th gen rear arms have some weight to them! Reckon they will help with the whiteline being fitted and further stiffen the rear end up. Should make the handling on your car even better than it is and you already know I love how your car handles. Between us for this year and next I reckon we could have built a prelude from the ground up
