Then you take the springs out and replace with the sleeve and the new smaller springs, then refit the top mount.
you use the sleeve to set the ride height.
if you want maximum lows don't even fit the sleeve

Depending on how old the shocks are they probably won't last that long either.

Yes the ride will be jobby and bouncy, but if you don't care then theres no problem
Sounds like the voice of experience :o
Yeh. But in my defence the previous owner installed them.. not me

Nice - thats the lows im after!

Are the sleeves on and wound down to the bottom or has the sleeves been left off and just the replacement spring used?

I think the front had the sleeves completely removed IIRC but the rears still had the sleeves in.
You'd have to test yourself to get an idea I think.

If the bottom of the coilover sleeve springs don't match the bottom spring seat on the strut (so i.e. the spring won't sit properly on the seat) I have to say that sounds like a dangerous idea to me
(I mean even beyond the other concerns that tend to be raised about sleeves)...

I agree there Iain. I wont know until I take them apart and see how it sits.

Hopefully I can get around to it soon.
