alinton wrote:That's an interesting one Drax, as far as I know the fogs and turns are on different circuits. Unless they're not! The fogs have 55w lamps, the turns 5w I think, much less anyway, so if you've got the wrong fuse in the fogs would blow it. Or maybe they are on the same circuit in the factory method, in which case maybe the combination of the two sets of lamps is too much for the fuse.
I can't find a circuit of how the turns are supposed to wire in, or I could have a look.

Are your turns and fogs both done the factory way?
im 99% sure I have the correct fuse but ill double check now you mention it!

both my fogs and turns are factory fitted :)

*edit: yep, fuse diagram shows to use a 15A fuse

and I ordered blue 15A spares and have used about 3 of them now :?

Well, the fogs will draw just over 9 amps. The turns are 21w lamps, so with one if them on they're taking just under 2 amps.

If, and it's an if, the turns and the fogs are protected by the same fuse, then you're drawing 11 amps from a 15a fuse. That's not much headroom.

If it was me I'd take the fuse out, connect a multimeter in its place set to current, switch on the fogs and the turn light and see what current is being drawn. For safety I'd connect a 25A fuse in series with the meter just in case there's something seriously wrong and more than that is being drawn.

If the current being drawn is close to or just over 15A, I'd replace the fuse with the next value up. If the current is way over, then something is seriously wrong with the wiring - a short to ground, chafed insulation, a bulb gone short circuit etc - then I'd then remove all the bulbs and switch on again to see if current is still being drawn, i.e. something drawing current when there are no bulbs in the holders would mean a wiring issue.

sounds like a plan, many thanks for the info 8-) I shall let you know how I get on.

Tonight I drove the car at night for the first time since fitting the intersection lights.

They're not gimmicky at all! They actually work very well, lighting up the turn you're just about to make.

Like it!

My Mac won't play the vid clip. May I ask ..are you just doubling up the indicator light in white? We don't have "intersection"lights here in UK. You guys flash your brake lights too don't you?

It's a YouTube clip, your Mac will play that. Mine does. I'm in Ireland, we don't flash brake lights!

However- the intersection lights were an option on the JDM Preludes. When the sidelights/headlights are on, when you switch on an indicator, the intersection light on that side comes on, not flashing, to illuminate the turn you're just about to make.

When the indicator cancels the intersection light goes out. Well, on mine it stays on for a second or so.

My Mac's dying on me and can't play clips.
When you use the word intersection I thought maybe this was an American or Canadian post..They don't have amber rear indicators..or didn't last time I was there and the rear lights flash red when indicating.
Interesting ..Thanks..Every day's a schoolday!
