I wudnt mind paying 5p for a bag to get my shizzle home from ASDA as long as I could at least get it from the boot of my car to the kitchen without the bottom falling out or losing a handle, never mind it lasting another trip to ASDA. The reusable bags they sell are great but they make you look like Roy cropper.

Yep, I did comment on that to Donald. That is utterly drokked up if you do one but not the other.4thgenphil wrote:Smoking with someone under 18 in the car = illegal
Smoking whilst pregnant = sweet, no problem, crack on love
As others have said, it's sad that the government has to legislate on these things, but unfortunately many parents these days are quite obviously incompetent/unsuitable/call it what you will...

I'm sorry, but anyone who is knowingly likely killing themselves, not having the will power to stop (in particular for the detriment it can cause infants), you have to question whether they really want kids.Donald wrote:This I think is a bit absurd too IMONafemanNathan wrote:Basically if you smoke, you don't qualify for the new license required to breed...Not everyone that smokes is an inconsiderate willy.

That's a really narrow minded way to look at it IMO. You could apply that logic to anyone that has a taste for an addictive substance. We all know how damaging alcohol can be, the silly decisions people make under caffeine, yet we aren't calling for parents to give up their morning coffee before the school run or banning parents taking their kids with them to the beer garden on a Sunday. I know they don't pose an immediate risk but I did specify that not everyone is inconsiderate, meaning some parents don't smoke around their kids and I certainly wouldn't. I'm hoping @vtecmec might remember that I have even moved away from him when having a cigarette outside, even though he smokes/d.
I think it's important to respect individual choice. By that I mean let the parents indulge in whatever vice that they please, but only so long as it doesn't pose a threat to others. I see nothing wrong with a parent going out to the garden for a smoke, and I don't think it makes them any less of a capable parent. Nicotine is more addictive than methadone, benzos, coke, methamphet. etc, though I think I'd much rather see a parent having a smoke AWAY FROM their kid than indulging in valium.
