350Z - opinions, please

the 370z gets my vote. Its the finished article...the 350 always reminded me of the nissan skyline they brought out before they punched us with the R35. Not really fully focused and for an older market.

Hmm. I wouldn't say no to an R34.

yeah that thing. It was like they put that out there to fool us while they were busy building that freakin' spaceship in the form of the 35. The 370z looks and sounds like the finished project if you get me. This was stage one, the 350z was stg2 and the 370 is finished. All of them have a slightly hunched view I dont like though. I'm never bothered with them drifting as a spectator.

What we're trying to assess is what it's like in daily ownership.
Jan will need finance to buy a good one, and it would be a shame if he got bored with it before it's paid off!

Well I used for just over 12 months as a daily, at the time I was doing a lot of miles, I was spending £400-£500 a month in fuel lol which is a lot. That was made up of mostly town driving with lots of freaking insane runs, fuel was also dear back then.
I found it very easy to live with, It was very comfy especially on long runs and surprising can fit a lot in the boot you just have to be clever with how you pack it lol.

Servicing costs I found were moderate, it is a GT sport coupe after all. Modifications were dear at the time but the second hand market is better now. ( I've still got some complete cylinder heads which have. Only covered 8k I've your interested lol)

Had one, loved it.
Mine was just over 300bhp the torque is great also you can over take things in 6th easily.
The ride is very good and comfortable. Mine was lowered 35mm on tein springs.
Due to the lsd and chassis they handle really well.
Yes it's a heavy car but it's still quick and stopping is fine with the brembos, I had ds2500 pads all round and groved and dimpled discs.

You can't beat the noise of them, they sound epic with a decent exhaust system.

We collected it this afternoon.

Built 1998, imported 2008. Last owner 5 years. GTB (hence the Bilstein badge). EJ20R engine, 2 sequential turbos.

Good bits: Feels like it's the quickest 4-wheeler in the fleet at the mo'. Space-saver and its well appear never to have been used. Nice Mackintosh audio (if we can work out how to use it properly.) And most importantly, comfy for at least 4 people.

Bad bits: Gear linkage ball joint worn (but doesn't seem to affect changes); down pipe to be replaced in next few months. Speedo reads about only 60% of real value compared to GPS.
