5th Gen - Fog Light Install Issue, help please?

Post by arif_manji » Wed Sep 23, 2015 8:09 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm a little puzzled, I'm fitting a 5th Gen OEM fog light kit. I have fitted the internal harness and external one all fine. Its all connected but there is no current coming through to the single orange cable to the fog lamps. I have earthed the external harness cable to the chassis and have even tested it to the battery.

But still doesn't seem to work! Can someone also confirm where the brown plugs should connect into the fuse box? I have used a guide which I have found online.

I can hear the relay clicking while pressing the switch and the switch lights on and off.

Please help? :(

Is it white and the other a red wire?

Yes correct mate.

Is there two orange cables behind the fuse box? If so, I may have put into the wrong orange cable?

Just reading around, is there two single orange cables available at the fuse box? If there is, maybe I have connected it to the wrong one?

Yes theres two orange connectors in there.

I must have removed the pics when I did a photobucket clean up and no longer have them

The orange connector you have will have a clear type end on it? The other is a black end is alot further down from the one you will have found.

Yes, the one I have connected it to is to a clear end orange cable - so that explains it! Took me ages to find that one lol. Ok, ill have another look down there - cheers mate :)

Guys, I cannot find this orange cable - I spent 40 minutes of my lunch break looking for it.

Can someone tell me where it's exactly hiding please? Which loom it's attached too, and if it's below or above the fuse box?

Is there any other easier way to find it?

Cheers

Ok, is it wrapped within that black tape? I'll have a look again.
Would it be easier to disconnect the big plug and look behind it?
