Unless V A G come up with a fix an emissions failure and you are off the road at your next MOT.

I don't trust some people but VW doing this is unbelievable. Will it end there or are other manufacturers doing the same?
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

I personally think it's very clever from vw, naughty but clever. Also diesels dont have an emissions test here. Just a smoke test.

My dpf on my van was hollowed out and egr deleted. Passed mot fine as it still won't smoke. I'm sure emissions are worse off course.

A friend of mine has a fabia vrs with the dpf removed (outer casing still present), egr removed, bigger turbo and a fee other performance mods. It's smokes when he boots it but still passes it's mot

And us asthma sufferers love you guys for it...

But anyway, yep, utterly stupid of VW to think they would get away with it. The yanks will absolutely drokk them for this - not only multi billion dollar from the regulators, but within hours of it going public, class action civil lawsuit also lined up...

After 2012 dpfs are required so yours is fine. Hollowed out dpfs pass.

Also what does a dpf do.....well it basically delays the soot particles and then burns them off when driving out in urban areas during regeneration. So basically the same as not having one. they are pointless crap not a solution to diesel problems.

I hate diesel. But no petrol option on the transporter.....yet.

I agree with you I hate diesel but really cheap for power gains. I do miss the mad owl noise my golf use to make.
