That's kind of what I imagined they used. I just wanted to see the other side to make sure they haven't tacked on a nut somehow. We've had a few cases at work of rivnuts pulling out (under not much load), but then at least I'd only just fall back in my seat :lol:

EDIT: Actually no, that was clinch nuts.

Yep, riv nuts are ok, so long as you fit them correctly and have the correct diameter hole and thickness of sheet for them. Otherwise... :suicide:

Yeah, the only potential issues I can see with those holes is one the diameter not being quite right, and also the fact it's a pressed hole, when the riv nut is compressed, it might fold the edge of the pressed hole back in and form a radius, which over time of me pulling myself out on it might aid the riv nut in pulling out.

So it might actually be beneficial if the hole is currently undersize, so I can drill it out to suit and do away with that pressed hole edge. It should still be strong enough.
