It may be a bit small - the cabinet at work is bigger than that and it can be a bit awkward moving the bigger bits around in it (suspension uprights etc)... Just saying

They do bigger ones as well and the blasters without a cabinet (if you fancy dealing with the mess )

How about a home build? I've seen some made out of wood on the cheap, as long as you line the inside with metal sheet or rubber then they are ok apparently.

I'm gathering bits to make a home build parts washer atm

@Wurlycorner. I now have one. Not a bad size either, you can fit a knuckle/upright in there no worries.

Right, this is slowly getting worked on in the evenings, in the hope of getting it back together, serviced and MOT'd (assuming it passes on everything else ) for japshow

It was a PITA to strip down 'cause everything was badly corroded.
Also it was absolutely drokking filthy back there. Worst of any lude I've worked on


That mud is seriously thick on there


I got the hump after I couldn't get the pad carriers off, so got the pressure washer out instead (possibly not a good idea on a 4th gen due an MOT ) After half an hour just on the arches, I only managed to improve it as far as this;





Better but needs more work. At least it seems the inner arches are solid though Also confirmed that the mugen side skirts are fitted with the genuine mugen fitting kit, not after market cobbled together stuff or slipped over the oem skirts.

I'll have to clean the drive when I'm done though (those bricks are actually red )


I found these in the shed that I forgot I had picked up a while ago;

They're newly refurbed units, but have sat around for a couple of years. Result none the less.

Eventually got the pad carriers off (lots of care needed to stop the corroded bolt heads rounding off ). The slider pins weren't seized so it's surprising that the brakes are so useless and in such bad condition.

I forgot to take any pics of what they came off like, but they were stripped down and chucked straight in some scalex solution.

Checked on them several times over the day, 24hrs later the solution is now this colour and they STILL need lots more time in there!


The existing discs are drokked.
Spare set no.1 of rear discs that I'd intended to use have no wear, but are pitted enough that they need skimming. I rang a place today to get a price and it was £20 a side, so not worth it.
Found spare set no.2 in the shed still on the hubs off the BA8. They have a tiny bit of wear, but no pitting, so they will be going on (once I drill out the fitting screws that are rounded off )

Attacked them with a screwdriver and wire brush and then back in fresh solution;

This jobby needs to hurry up... I only have this evening and tomorrow to get it all finished.
