I went to Machine Mart today armed with a 'no VAT' discount voucher:

To cut a long story short the drive shaft bolt on Laura's Audi has mullered all the sockets I've used on it, so it's time for the big guns

If these don't shift it then I'm buggered

Why VW/Audi couldn't have used a drokking spindle nut I don't know... Presumably so that you have to take it to a dealer to have a £4 piece of rubber replaced

Productive day yesterday, flattened and spent a good couple of hours buffing my recently painted bonnet on t'other car...didn't come up too shabby at all! Only problem is it highlights just how off white the rest of the car has become with age!

We've just arrived back from collecting a new daily driver for Laura

No decent pics yet but here it is from where we stopped off for a pub lunch:

It needs the front bumper repainting so we will get that done over the next month or so, there's a small amount of rust on the front wing which will also need addressing but otherwise it seems to be a very straight car. It's a jap import G-Limited spec with 100k miles on the clock, only thing letting the side down is that it's an auto

Laura wanted an auto for her commute though and having driven 40 mile commutes myself previously I can't really argue with that logic.

Fingers crossed it treats us well!!

Bit of a change from an Audi estate!

My mate has had a G-Limited MR2 same age as that, for about 6 years. He uses it as a daily, but looks after it.

It's rotten as a pear...

I know of a decent g limited for sale with 50k on the clock if anyone wants one...just needs some loving!
