Im still making this decision. I do love my prelude but do i just leave it as is and let her slowly die or do i go balls to the wall and just throw money at it and hope i dont resent it 9 months down the road XDATR84 wrote: That's the thing with these cars, not many people will be able to justify spending 3 times what the car is worth to sort out the rust. When the time comes with mine I will have the same decision to make and it will really depend on what my financial situation is like at the time. With a young child and a mortgage to pay the car is not top priority, and let's face it the reason most of us are driving Preludes is because we wanted performance motoring, but on a budget.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Yep because you won't get your money back if you do sell it. If you can be sure you are going to keep the car for the next 5+ years I would say it is worth it, if not then probably not.vetrox wrote:Im still making this decision. I like the lude so much that when the time comes I will seriously consider throwing money at it.

The problem i have is I often throw money at cars and then get immediatley bored, my record is owning a car for about 9 months (although to be fair it did jobby itself on the drag strip)ATR84 wrote:

However I really am smitten with the prelude. I can see me regretting it badly if i sold it or let it rot. Rot is not the way I want it to go.

And I thought throwing £1300 at a gearbox was an easy decision.

I got a quote yesterday, £220 to cut out rust on both wheel arches and corners of skirt, filled with fiber glass and primed

That is actually dirt cheap, I'm getting the whole car done ATM but I was quoted 750 to cut and weld in new metal and spray for both rear arches.

Plus you said primed. Not painted and lacquered?
