D3 is auto but with only 3 ratio's D4 uses 4 ratio's sport button holds the revs to the line before changing up

In my Isuzu apparently you're supposed to turn off overdrive in town as it prevents the overdrive solenoid becoming seized in place and also reduces the amount of gear changes and as a result gearbox wear (or something along those line). I only found that out a couple of months ago, but it has definitely made town driving a lot better since making a habit of switching off overdrive once I leave the main roads.wurlycorner wrote:Yep, so no difference in acceleration, just less top speed and drink a lot more fuel (because it won't use 4th). So pointless using D3.
You also get more of an engine braking effect with the overdrive switched off.
That said the diesel troopers use Toyota boxes which could be a completely different kettle of fish to the Honda boxes...
I fitted a Type S intake to the car today, no probs, took all of 10 minutes.
I'd read that it can sit too high and prevent the bonnet closing, but not here; mind you I did use the original lower half of the filter box.
On my first and only test run, to the shop, I got the impression that the midrange power was a littler better, and smoother delivery.
I've a question, what's the collecteed thoughts, merits, disadvantages of removing the resonator? Is there any danger of sucking up moisture if driving in very wet conditions?

The risk is increased but I don't think it is a hazard. My 4th gens Apexi filter is almost on the floor and I dont have a problem with water.
By removing the resonator you will most likely loose a little low end torque but you may pick up a little higher RPM performance. If your resonator does not work (many have seized up actuators) then deffo remove it.
Put a K&N flat panel filter in there if you haven't already
