May be irrelevant as mine's a 4g, but I had a code 21 front main steering angle sensor fault when I bought my 'lude 10 years ago... I tried replacing it and had the same fault. I eventually cured it by replacing the 4WS control unit :cry:

Could it actually be a dry silver joint in the ECU, rather than the sensor then? Not a massive deal to fix if so.
