Classics of the future
Been having a chat with someone at work today (yet another busy and thrilling day in the office for me!) about how the majority of new cars are fairly boring and lack character. This then led me to think about what will be classed as classics when we are old and grey...and beyond that, when we are gone.
Thoughts? Opinions? Mass-debate?

Aside from blandness of current cars, a major problem with keeping them running long into the future will be the lack of parts supply - stuff goes obsolete so quickly now and the days of manufacturers building up a massive stash of parts are long gone...

any car that has a top of the range badge will probably be collectable like the rs focus or vxr Astra or imports like the vauxhall/holden V8's the M series Bmw's and the top of the range sporty Merc's.
Unlike their predecessor's i dont think the beetle or mini will be collectable well not for a long time they are producing so many of them.

Yeah, I was gonna say I reckon VXR's and Holden's will be considered as classics.
Sorry, but RS focus's absolutely send me to sleep
Loads of htem round here and drokk me they are boring...
Actually, one very recent/modern car that will probably do nothing for anyone on here but will very definitely be considered a classic...

The last ever big hydraulic Citroen luxury saloon.
(and yes, I will indeed be an owner one day)
drokk knows what I will do for parts to keep it going though!
