Hi guys,
I'm sure there must be a how to somewhere..... but does anyone know how to remove the driveshaft's on a 3G prelude and what size is the axel nut?

Yep. Honda service manual is linked out of there.
Though it won't tell you the driveshaft nut size... If you can wait till after this weekend, I should be able to tell you

Thanks guys, I tried doing it a couple days ago, its a 36mm bit. I managed to open one, the drivers side just won't come off though, look's like its never been off. Tried heating it up too!wurlycorner wrote:Yep. Honda service manual is linked out of there.

The drive shaft nut you mean?
Undid both ones on my breaker last weekend with no problem.
Used a hex socket with a breaker bar that's about 50cm long and another length of scaffold pole about 40cm long. Does the job nicely. Having an auto box makes it a piece of body lemonade!
Beware though, the drive shafts don't fit through the struts, you either need to undo the bottom strut bolts to separate them from the lower arm (seized solid both sides on mine) or split the inner driveshaft joint (what we did).

By strut, do you mean the folk which the shock absorber sits on? How do you split the inner driveshaft joint any special tools needed? I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some advice on how to do this?
Would it be possible to split the inner joint to remove drive shaft from transmission, as my nut is seized on the drivers side?
I think with yours its a lot easier as your engine and driveshaft's etc are all still in the car, I have all the engine/gearbox and suspension out of the car already, so it makes taking the drive shafts off harder!

Just cut the clip around the inside end of the gaitor and then pull the rubber gaitor off the inner end of the inner joint (the 'cup') Beware - when you split this joint, it's a tri-ax joint (unlike the outer joint) so unless you're careful, the bearings will fall off.How do you split the inner driveshaft joint any special tools needed? If you do it all carefully, you can cut the clip without damaging the gaitor and then you can just slip it all back together and fit a new clip.
