Wheel fitments with rivet on arches

So guys I'm in the middle of repairing my rusted arches with new metal welded in and wanted to go for the rivet on arch look like on those old Datsun 240z cars but anyways, I'm considering some 17x10j wheels with +15 offset on the way, I'm just wanting to know which parts of the arches and bumpers I would need to cut to get away with this figment, bearing in mind there will be rivet on arches on top. Cheers guys

Vlad's doesn't show you how much of the arch you'd need to cut away though.
Do you have the wheels and tyres already?
You'll need to cut away the outer and inner skin. Pull the remainder of the outer skin out, probably push the inner skin up and then weld in a new piece to join the two back up. You'll need to pull the bumper out to suit as well, which will be easy enough, but you'll probably need to support it lower down so it doesn't try and pull back in and look gash.
I assume you won't be doing this yourself, hence your question, so you'd be best off just supplying your car and wheels to the experienced fabricator and asking him to just make it work
You car will not handle the same afterwards though you realise.

10j is doable on the rear, but will be a bitch on the front. I'd suggest 9j as a max on the front.
Do I assume you know all about widths and offsets? Sorry for the patronising question, but a lot of people don't.

Yea I understand all about offsets, but assumed it wouldn't be too big an issue even for the front since the arches will be cut? And wider flared arches riveted in? So would a square set up of widths be better or narrower fronts be better in terms of how the car handles? Or anything else I should be concerned about?

Yeah, the potential inside rubbing is why I was wanting to check you understood about offsets and their relation to width.
Is you car 4WS?
It's obviously your steering that will become jobby if you go too wide, and the same applies to the rear if you have 4WS.
