Luke: 1989 4ws auto in Yorkshire

Agree with Craig. Push the throttle bell crank towards the route of the cable, and against its spring, which will produce slack in the cable, then use a pair of long nose pliers, or get your finger behind, the cable nipple. Pull the cable from around the bell crank utilising the slack you've now got in the cable, and pull it sideways off the throttle cable nipples cutout.

I not confident enough to do that!

But thanks Mike - i will just have to clean throttle body as is ....

Shame you're not closer, would pop in to give you a hand. Seriously it's not difficult, all my old bikes have a similar set, and there's a lot less space on motorcycles. It will also allow you to clean those hardly accessible areas better too.

Honestly Wayne, the cable is a piece of body lemonade to disconnect compared to what you've already removed. Just twist the throttle butterfly (using the cam on the outside) by hand and the cable will go slack. You'll then see how the end of the cable locates in a hole and once you've manipulated the clack cable into the right position, you just pull it out.

Looks like you have 2 cables attached to the throttle cam, one is the throttle cable and the other is the cruise control cable, I assume. They'll both detach in the same way.

Its easy to remove and re-attach?

Iain - my Luke has no cruise control

But even if I remove the throttle cable,
Then is ANOTHER bolt underneath which holds a large tube below in place.
I had no luck removing this and probably have worked the bolt now ...

Just about see that 5th bolt underneath the throttle body:

Its very easy to get to,
But it secures a large tube holder,
Which holds on to a large tube.

The large tube is tight and stiff, so no chance of removing it from the holder,

The holder s bolt is just too tight and its slipping on my long rachet yesterday...
