Still at loss to:
1. Where is MAF?
2. And electrical plug from MAF to air intake?
3. How to remove throttle body (whack with mallet)?
4. How to remove this throttle cable from throttle body?

You won't have a MAF on there, I think it's a MAP sensor on these and it'll be plumbed into the manifold somewhere. The electrical connector you unplugged is that of the throttle position sensor from the looks of it.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but I think you've removed most of what needs to come off?

The throttle cable appears to be held in place with a lock nut, on my 2g you have to spin a nut past a section with a cut out and then you can remove that part of the cable, then it comes away completely when you twist the nipple at the end into the right position ( ).

The throttle body will probably be stuck on fairly well just from how long it's been on there. Provided all the hoses and electrical connectors going to it are removed then it should come off with a fair tug

After looking past the flap with a torch and saw this



I was determined to remove and clean!

So i whacked it and whacked until it came off - lol




Managed to remove gasket and throttle body
But its still held by a fifth bolt underneath + i darent remove the throttle cable!



This is the best i can do!






Throttle cleaner



Old + new gaskets





Proper clean tomorrow
Wish me luck Luke at least starts!
Let alone maybe solve the yo-yo revs

If it dosent,
It could be the idle stabilisation valve - which i not touching as it looks even harder to remove (and Honda no longer sell those gaskets!)

Remove the throttle cable mate and get it off the car to clean, it will be a lot easier. Just turn the throttle to wide open and hold it with one hand then push the cable with the other until it lines up with the release slot and pull it up. Putting it back is not hard either.
