They are apparently off of a mitsubishi gto, but I have sean the older shape gto brakes and there different so im thinking thrre off the newer 3000gt..
im not sure about the rears, is there a 282 brake upgrade for the rear?? I will try them with the standard rear set up first and see how it all feels..

You'll have to find the thread with a few options on rear disc upgrades. Rich from PAW is using Mondeo discs I think it is, and I think @106pete is using discs from a Toyota Avensis or something.

Yeah that's right the avensis disc work better imo, I've done a mock up for a mondeo disc and found its fine but requires spacing away from the bracket which isn't ideal but ok. Don't forget rich only used what he had laying around the workshop.
I haven't used my car yet so haven't tested the brackets, I have got the ally and a place to laser cut out a few but I didn't want to sell anything without testing first.
There is a Polish guy making and selling sets I think cybel put a link to it?

The avensis set up still requires a bracket much like the mondeo step up but the caliper can just bolt direct to the bracket while the mondeo set up requires around 5mm of spacing away from the bracket which could imo add movement and extra stress on the bolt!
You could use thicker plate and then machine the hub end back to give you the 5mm step but it's and extra process that the avensis doesn't need and the cost would add up quite a lot for it.

Re: Rear arch repairs
Post by JEBB4 » Sat Apr 04, 2015 8:48 pm
Well being a 4 day weekend I thought it best to actually have a go at repairing the rust on my arches...
Me and my dad started at about 3 this afternoon with me cleaning up the rusty patches, doing the welding on the drivers side and him applying the rust eater, filling and rubbing down. .
progress is good so far.. we are hoping to get it all done and painted on Monday..
here is some useless photographic evidence
Before, they were pretty bad..
