rear lower strut brace

Post by Bludge » Sat Apr 04, 2015 10:04 am

Just a quick one, got a rear lower strut brace and went to fit it today but the holes on the brace are too small for the bolts.
It does attach to the control arm bolts right? like not the toe adjustment ones, the ones closer to the front of the car?

Its the only place i can see it fits but want to double check before i go drilling out the holes!

you shouldnt have to drill out any holes
i had a dc sports rear lower strut brace on my 2ws BB4 and if i remember right you could see it from the back of the car and it attached to the subframe. Only problem i had was it meant you needed longer bolts as i was pulled up for it in an MOT - they said the bolts were not fully engaged in the nut.
I removed my lower brace and bought a spoon upper rear brace - job done ;) I think the dc sports lower strut looked good but really didnt make any difference to handling so really its was just a bit of bling :)

well thats the only place i can see its the right size to fit, but the holes on the mounting brackets on the brace are too small for the bolts to fit through. wondering if its a brace for a different car that just happens to be the same width between where the arms meet the subframe but with thinner bolts.
