Re: Im going mad!
Was doing it before mot and passed okMerlin wrote:I wouldn't have thought so I have never heard of a motor rattling. Rattles form the rear could be anything, exhaust, ARB drop links, ARB bushes, suspension bushes, balljoints, shock knock, crap in the boot etc...MaccaIRL wrote:Wouldnt be anything to do with 4ws??
Also passed a thorough mot check
I just dont get why its only when cold, keep thinking exhaust isnt sitting right or something and when it gets hot its.... i dunno haha
Was hoping someone on here had this problem before

exhaust baffle in rear box or heat shield under car perhaps, hard to diagnose unheard over interweb, but that's my guess

Re: Im going mad!
Well i found it...
Boot lid :/
Spoiler makes a little noise but the boot lid actually sounds terrible lol
Ive a feeling its the rubber bits rubbing together to give that high pitched scratching sort of sound
Anyone have tips for this? Knowing my luck its a common fault and as simple as twisting a screw

Re: Im going mad!
Theres a slight gap between the lid and the rear bumper but boot is fully closedVtecmec wrote:There are rubber spacers that screw into the boot lid, wind them out a little to tighten things up a bit, assuming that the boot lid sits square and all the panel gaps are correct.
That might be the issue
