I wouldn't have thought so I have never heard of a motor rattling. Rattles form the rear could be anything, exhaust, ARB drop links, ARB bushes, suspension bushes, balljoints, shock knock, crap in the boot etc...

exhaust baffle in rear box or heat shield under car perhaps, hard to diagnose unheard over interweb, but that's my guess :)

Well i found it...

Boot lid :/

Spoiler makes a little noise but the boot lid actually sounds terrible lol

Ive a feeling its the rubber bits rubbing together to give that high pitched scratching sort of sound

Anyone have tips for this? Knowing my luck its a common fault and as simple as twisting a screw

There are rubber spacers that screw into the boot lid, wind them out a little to tighten things up a bit, assuming that the boot lid sits square and all the panel gaps are correct.

Theres a slight gap between the lid and the rear bumper but boot is fully closed

That might be the issue

On my 4th gen I put a neoprene layer between my spoiler and boot lid.
