with the correct tune it will be fine but for how long is uncertain as its the rings that are the weakpoint

So would it be worthwhile to get some low cp pistons (mahle gold 9:1)??

if you really want it to be reliable for any length of time then mahle pistons are the minimum really if you handy with replacing engines and your not worried about blowing and replacing an engine then stay standard and enjoy it while it lasts.

Have a word with one of the guys actually running a turbo on here

Problem is a lot of people boost high mileage engines Which means the wear on the rings is already there.

I reckon you will be fine with 6-8 psi or up to 300whp.
Do a compression test on the engine to see its health and a bloody good rich no knock tune and you will be fine.

The engine will probably wear its rings a bit faster.

I did a compression test on mine after roughly 500 miles of charger action and I'm still the same health. Agreed 500 miles is nothing.
