Well there's a big change at work happening at the end of the month which will mean I have a lot more spare cash but no time off for this year except sunday and bank holidays

Great stuff!!! It will be good to see another Prelude competing

Yeah safety stuff is expensive. Like you say you need a helmet that is approved my the MSA. I had to get one for Super Lap Scotland. I got the V2 Elite helmet which is SNELL SA2010 certified. Its a nice helmet with ear hole cut outs in the foam so it is comfy to wear for long periods ;)

The VTEC Challenge rules should state what your car needs to conform to in the MSA regs https://www.msauk.org/assets/2015msayearbook.pdf It will tell you what types on cages are approved, that is if dash dodgers aren't allowed in the VTEC Challenge. I printed off that section and gave it to my cage builder.

Cheers for that mate the helmet looks pretty good and not expensive.
I'll contact rich with regards to the cage see where he recomends to get it done as I don't think they make cages themselves

That's why I bought the race Crx. It was going to
cost a lot to develop my lude further & there aren't many race ones for sale! :-(

Fair play if you plumb that money in to race it. Not cheap, but that's for a reason if it all goes Pete Tong!

Well the way I see it is this.
I love driving my prelude but with doing just a 40 mile trip ip the motorway and back 6 days a week it wouldn't get used. Being that I now i am 31 practically married I have 2 kids and a 3rd on the way it's very hard to find the time to go out and enjoy the car and a family of 5 won't fit in for a day out somewhere.
I enjoy track days but it also seems a little bit pointless to just rag it round the track, it is fun don't get me wrong but I've always wanted to be in motorsport. from the few conversations I've had it seems like quite a "cheap" (ill use that term lightly) way of getting into it. The money I save everymonth by not going to pubs or smoking like the majority of my group do mean I have spare funds to do what I like. So this is what I'm planning.

Pretty good way of summing it up bud. I'm in a similar position, just missing a lude that runs now! Perhaps I'll join you on track someday.
