Back over to the barn today. The resin was hard but sticky (oo-err!) shuttering removed.
This is what it should come out like;

Nice and neat

This is what the first one that we poured came out like;

Yes - that's after spending half an hour cleaning and tidying it up. The emergency flood stop dams (the bits of wood) are going no-where!!!
I expect a bigger hammer and a cold chisel will eventually shift them, but whatever, it's all worked and it's structurally sound, that's the main thing

So onto the wiring.
Took the feed into the control box back up. This is a much longer route and looks a little untidy, but it keeps the working area completely free/with no chance of snagging;

The Isolator will be fixed to the wall on the left (there's a sliver of concrete block between the corrugated tin on the left and the right, that's exactly the right width for the switch box and will keep everything very nice and neat

Wiring 4-core SWA neatly/properly is a right utter PITA on your own. You're fighting the damn thing all the way and cable glands are an absolute arse to get right so they grip the armour. Have to get the length of the armour left over, just exactly right.

This thing was a particular PITA to do;

But we got there and it's far more robust than modern crappy commando sockets.
I was pissed off with it all by this stage so stopped taking photo's, but next thing was to wire up the extra earth I'd run (not strictly needed, because the neutral is earth and the chassis earthed via the armour all the way back, but better safe than sorry).
It had all taken a lot longer than expected and it was half ten at night, so sticking a car on the ramp was out of the window. But, all ready for the big switch on, so at least I can see it go up and down, right?

THE PLUG DOESN'T FIT!!!

The housing is the same size, the thread is the same, it's the same manufacturer, same rating (15amp), same pin size and pin layout... But the pins are spaced slightly wider on this one (about 5mm).
I mean, what the actual drokk?!!!!

At that point, going home with the hump and drinking lots of JD entered the fray...
