Quick release bumper?

good question about whether you can run the tray and splash guards with Chris's bumper!

Getting hold of replacement fixings is jot a problem (common across all sorts of Honda's of that era, incl NSeX

) and I find if you re-assemble them with copper-ease, they're ok next time you come to them.

My analness won't let me run cars without them, but regardless of that, the splashing around of crap up inside the arches/behind thew front lights, chassis legs and over the front of the doors and A pillar is a big no-no for me!

All of the fixings on the underside of my 5th gen splash guard had/have snapped

I certainly can't be doing with drilling them out, so that made the decision easy

i suppose i should have given a bit more info!

i have no undertray and not sure what the splash guards are, so im guessing i dont have them! lol.

my bumper is currently secured with a nut and bolt either side attaching to the wing, and 2 nuts and bolts in the center where it meets the bonnet. its fairly easy to get off as it is, but i was interested in my options for a quicker, preferably tool-less release system!

There are more expensive options similar to Aerocatches, but I certainly wouldn't rely on those things you've linked to as an only method.

yeah i was thinking of nuts and bolts on the center of the bumper and something like those on the wings. but even then im not sure i would trust them for normal driving?

the nuts and bolts on the wings can be a bit fiddly to get to which is why i wanted something easy!

the nuts and bolts are pretty easy to get to in the center and i could just keep a cheapo ratchet and spanner in the car to do them. then just pop what ever is holding it at the wings and bobs yer uncle!

do you know what the catches are called so i can have a google for them?

they might be suitable to replace the bolts in the center bit, and maybe for my bonnet vent plate too! will look into those bad boys!

They hold up fine. My bumper is held on my 4 plastic poppers at the grille and a screw either side at the wings.

At the connections on the wings;
If you fitted a couple of bolts (or something like that) to the wings, so they point down into the slots in the top of the bumper corner, where the screws from the bumper currently go up, then used the rubber band things on the outside of the bumper like in the photo, that would work. The rubber band thing holds the bumper corner up, the bolts stop it flapping about sideways.

if that makes any sense?
