Thanks, but I use a recurve, rather than cheat. :lol:
;)
I don't actually know a lot about that particular one as its not my field, but a Hoyt is a good bow full stop. 8-)

nope but a cheaters bow will reach you in your field where a recurve might not :lol:

crossbow for the apocalipso imho as I can give it to the missis to range fire while I wade into the blood up close.

Recurve would also be my choice for general use. less like a party frock and more like a tool of work.

Though to be fair this thing will put an arrow through a 2x4 where my recurve wont :lol: :?

@mercutio :lol:
Statutory recurve/compound baiting, you should hear it down the club! :o :D

My thoughts exactly LLL, I can totally appreciate the design and purpose of the compound, I'm just a bit 'meh' about actually shooting them. Too much bow and not enough archer for me I think.

Crossbows are great no doubt you will get no arguement from me stopping power beyond compare at short to medium range, There only issue is the reload not a problem for what the legion used them for but fighting off a crowd be better with a bow. :lol:

About time someone mentioned Crecy or Agincourt on that subject, surely.

I tried to start shooting in the bow again recently, only to find that all the local clubs had ridiculous waiting lists... something to do with the Hunger Games, apparently. Still, if more women are shooting I'm not going to complain, I suppose.

For the record, recurve, and barebow without a sight ;)

Interesting stuff. A friend at secondary school competed at archery (national level). I had a go with his gear quite a few times and was a natural for some reason (same as I have been with air pistols/rifles and clay pigeon shooting with shotguns).

Not in the slightest bit interested in killing animals, quite happy just shooting targets and clays and don't feel I 'miss out' or prove anything less that way tbh, but yep, quite enjoyed that actually. I'd forgotten all about it, so 8-) mention...
