Swapping h22 into 2.0 5g prelude
Post by akiragost » Tue Feb 03, 2015 12:33 am
So as per title, I used to have a prelude vti many years ago, have a 350z now which I'm selling up and getting a prelude again. I spotted a 5g 2.0 prelude, and was wondering what is necessary for a swap for h22a5? Anyone know what garages or people even from here who could do it for me at a price? What kind of costs am I looking at?

Engine
ECU
Engine bay wiring loom (think the vtec wire is already there from the ecu to the engine bay)
You can keep your old gearbox or swap that at with the engine (different ratio's)
Also front discs, pads and calipers, as nitin has said.
If you're looking to pay a garage to do it, that would be at least a days labour, so by the time you've bought the car, the parts and then paid out for the swap to be done for you, you'd have been better off buying a vtec 5th gen in the first place I'd have thought.
That's unless the 2.0 you've seen is an absolute minter of course and you can't find a vtec one that's as good, but I'd be surprised? There are plenty of vtec 5th gens out there to choose from still.
