You'd have to ask Drax why he's gone for a 55mm crank. It is not absolutely necessary to use any other crank than the one that is already in your engine, for the type of power you have been talking about. My ~270bhp engine in my 4th gen uses the 50mm crank.
If you wanted all that you would be as well as buying a 99+ UK 5th gen with the H22a8. It would give the same results.Darkam wrote:H23 crank, rods, Type S pistons, ATR head.

Yes amd it bumps up the compression dependant on what pistons you use.Merlin wrote:Ahh, why use it then? Is it stroking?
Its a massive headache and not a cheap option it seems to be if you want to do it some it last more than 5 miles.
Type s pistons will probably jobby them selves aswell due tontje compression and you may have p2v clearance issues not sure in p2h clearances

Are peoples getting confused between H23a Vtec and H23a1 Non-Vtec cranks here?

Take a look here : http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/hal ... beast.html
With H23 (A1?) Crank and rods + Type S pistons the CR is increased. And as 4thgenphil says, the clearence beetween piston and valves will be really small. Better go with a never skimmed head and a thiker headgasket.
Merlin : I've thinked about it, but if I buy another Lude this is to drive it on little roads, and there is no point to have a RHD car to do this beacause overtaking will be a big problem. But it would be way cheaper for sure and simple for sure.
Another compatibility problem I've not already check : flywheel and clutch with the H23 crank and a U2Q7 gearbox.

You can get the H22a8 5th gen in Europe too.Darkam wrote:Merlin : I've thinked about it, but if I buy another Lude this is to drive it on little roads, and there is no point to have a RHD car to do this beacause overtaking will be a big problem.
