I didnt no, i thought its not worth it yet as most of braking is done through the frontek9sid wrote:Did you change the rear pads and discs?

Check the caliper slider pins are fully free on both front brakes.

By all means, but in terms inducing juddering through the car, the rear won't do a lot. You tend to hear problems with the rear brakes on a lude more IME

Fair enough. Having not had much experience with ludes I didn't know this...which is why I'm here (to learn).wurlycorner wrote:By all means, but in terms inducing juddering through the car, the rear won't do a lot. You tend to hear problems with the rear brakes on a lude more IME
Going back to whether or not the track rod ends...my local mot centre passed my vectra with 2 leaking shocks and several crumbling bushes so they could have missed the track rod ends on yours.
Now you come to mention it wurly (I replied before reading your reply) I did read that the slider pins do seize up quite often...

Hmmm ok
The fronts were fully greased and serviced and what not by my mechanic so hopefully theyre ok
Rears do look very rusted and iffy but do still brake well

And no its just randomly, in traffic at 10mph get it sometimes, at 70mph on motorway i get it sometimes
Only difference / change at all is at higher speeds the bumps or whatever get more rapid... at 10mph you feel like youre in a learner car and they cant use the clutch lol
Its not as bad as it was now i have the warped discs and stuff replaced but its still there
As i said, flew through mot even with this happening so braking efficiency and all is passable
Will check to see if i have the mot slips and post the brake efficiency here
Just a few thoughts which might help..
When you fitted the new dics/pads did you clean then properly with something like brake clean and the mating surface to the hub, it might be the pads trying to grip uncleaned discs ?
Are the pads central in the caliper ? and griping fully to the discs, did you apply copper grease to the pads where they slide in the caliper pads might be sticking ?
Is the pedal solid or does it go down a long way before the brakes apply ?
