Cheers guys

I ll monitor the situation and make a decision early Easter.

Initial plans was to keep for minimum 2 years.
That might change to one due to potential work redundancy.
Might be shorter now if rust gets worse ...

:( :( :(

All I'll say is don't let an MOT station anywhere near your car with welding equipment

Get alternative quotes for the welding. I was quoted 600 quid to do my rear arches, excluding paintwork!! They said it was a two man job, due to H+S issues, and that all the interior had to be stripped out because of the fire risk. However, it is getting harder these days to get someone with the skills and willingness to do this type of work anymore, but stick with it, and get it done properly, not just glassed over, after all, how would any of us like to buy a 'repaired' car, and discover it was full of 'glass. Reminds me of the era of MGB's and stuffed newspaper used as filler.

Do as you would have done..... my 'arches ended up costing 100 odd quid, rather than the 600!! And that included respraying, and it was a good job, mates rates...

Find a proper welder, hopefully by recommendation, and mine is pretty.
