3G: Dont turn over at start-up

Definitely the main relay. Common problem on 3rd gens and both of my 3rd gens did it after a drive out and a short break.

I simply removed the relay and heat gunned the sheat out of it. Job done.

Interesting

So fat its happened:
1. At petrol station afternoon (so car off for no more than 5-10mins)?
2. Petrol station afternoon (again 5-10mins)
3. Didnt happened tonight when re-started within 5mins
4. Happened again after shopping for 10-15mins.
- open the door with cold breeze in, didnt start
- waited another 30sec, started
- so started after THREE turns with door open

Not a controlled scientific experiment ...

Also how long have you been driving prior to stopping? It might not always have got hot enough to be problematic.

Mine did it more in the summer. The relay is directly under the dash near your right knee. I used to bash the area with my hand (not my penis) and it usually jolted the solder on the board into contact to start.

1st time :Bypass 70mph for 20-30mins
2nd: 30mph for 20mins
3rd: 50mins bypass/city

My NEVER happened since i Bought Luke in Aug.

Only happened after:
In garage to adjust valve clearance / pas fluid / install remote central locking
Parked in garage 3 weeks xmas
Then it happened 1st took car out and went to petrol station to fill-up ...it wouldng start for 5-10mins....

So far, its happened EVERY Day - but i only droved it for 3 days so far now ...

Could you have duffed the battery having it on charge for 3 weeks 24/7?

They usually go anyway. It had to go at some point and your may have started after the long break.

But of course it might not even be the relay. But the symtoms you describe say it could be it.

It takes 30secs to remove. Take it out and pop it in a hot oven for a 1min of 2 or use a heat gun.

Also it only take a tiny bump for the hot solder to come out of place and you say you have central locking installed....the installers may be jolted it slightly.

I thought similarly to Donald. Worth trying to jump start it next to see if that makes a difference. Mine would never start if the battery was anything under 90%. This is also even easier to check than the plugs
