The may be a part the power difference beetween H22A and H22A8 would be explained by the fact the crank is a bit heavier ?
Does anybody have ever try to fit a JDM ECU to a H22A8 to "unlock" the 20hp missing ?
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

No the crank has nothing to do with the power difference. Its the pistons and cams etc.Darkam wrote:The may be a part the power difference beetween H22A and H22A8 would be explained by the fact the crank is a bit heavier ?

A old skool luder "Yellalude" got his h22a8 remapped on an AEM ecu and it made 220bhp in stock form.

As said. A simple remap will get you to 220bhp.Darkam wrote:So there is no way to reach "easyli" 220hp on a H22A8, erf, too beautifull to be true ... I'll deal with it

I looked into doing this recently, the other way round (a french registered car into the UK - guess what car that might have beenjjmartin349571 wrote:I thought you could register it in France provided that you have a UK V5C? It was my understanding that this was a loophole that some use for importing older US cars into France.

It's relatively straight forward for cars that were originally sold within an EU member state (even for original EC member states prior to the EC actually existing, up to a certain date) but the Type S wasn't originally sold in the UK or France, so I can well believe those rules wouldn't apply for a JDM car being imported into France even if it had previously been registered in the UK - it was still originally only sold outside the EU, so they'd probably regard it as an (in effect) fresh import?
Obviously JDM cars are wrong hand drive for France, so I bet it isn't quite so straight forward as it is for us?
Mind you, if think that's complicated, you should look into the rigmarole and restrictions on importing cars into Australia!!!

There's no problem (as far as legislation is concerned) with driving an RHD car in France.
There is however a major issue with trying to registrate a car which wasn't actually registered (as a new car) in EU.
It's not impossible, but it is very, very expensive, long and complicated. Some guys do it for BNR34, RX7's, Supras... but for a Prelude it would easily double the price of a very clean Type S.
