the thing with rot is the les you use a car the more it deteriorates/sulks if it was me I would keep the crx and buy another runabout and I love ludes or drive about in Luke and do a rolling resto

I would drive it in the dry / summer - even if rusted (hence a summer car).
But deterioates less in our current weather?
Its raining here.
I have no new rear light gaskets.
No grommet for my aerial hole yet.
2 holes in my boot wing.
Its forecast more snow in Jan - so roads will be gritted here.

yes but its not rain that's the issue its damp if you drive you get a constant flow of air this while its raining means water as well but when its dry and cold it dries out the car and the body heats up depending on how far you drive also helping to dry the car
If you leave a car in a garage unless the garage is hermetically sealed you will get moist air in there the car always being cold will end up attracting/trapping moisture so it will rot away worse than if you were driving it daily

^^This!!!! I haven't driven my 3g Accord properly in a few months and it's looking worse than ever!! Don't lay Luke up, get those holes sorted (even if temporarily) and start washing your wheel arches out once a week or so to stop crap building up and keeping moisture against the arches over winter. Come summer time you can tackle those few bits properly, and you'll have a car that'll be an all year driver for the next 20 years or so with the right maintenancemercutio wrote:the thing with rot is the les you use a car the more it deteriorates/sulks if it was me I would keep the crx and buy another runabout and I love ludes or drive about in Luke and do a rolling resto

I wouldn't sell the CR-X personally, as even the crap ones are going for crazy money these days and that one looks mint. If you subsequently miss it and want another I think you'd have a real hard time finding a good example.

Regards aerial hole in backwing. You can buy blind grommets from Maplins, it's probably 20mm (ish) that would solve that problem. I have no experience of CRX's but defer to advice given here by others.. You're better off keeping Luke on the road, as rust will only get worse if you lay him up. Cost-wise, an extra couple of mm's of rust being cut out will not add to the total welding costs. He'll also develop more issues by being laid -up, likes of brakes seizing etc, etc... will p.m you, regards high level brake wiring.

I have de-rust it now with BH Deox Gel
And one coat of Dinitrol 3125
Will that be OK to keep in garage or shall I drive in rain?

CRX not mint.
But its rust free

And with glass roof - hence I already have a buying coming to buy 2moro

If it was VTEC and a manual - I would keep it.
But its an auto and non-VT ...
