Re: Honda-Hardy's type "s" express
well what can i say.
this car is a completely different beast now, from even when i got it back from performance autoworks.
when i got the car back from them i would get an occasional flutter, not like a misfire but almost like when an injector is not working quite right, sometimes the speedo would wobble. then a few weeks later i found the speedo would drop out completely. causing the eml to illuminate along with the atts light. the car would then drive at this permanent state of reduced power like i felt with the flutter. so i thought that i would replace the vss on the gearbox with my known good working one but this didn't fix it, i think i made it worse as the speedo didn't work at all, this is when i found the broken wire within the engine loom. so i rejoined all of the wires correctly. it seemed ok for about a week then the same issue would show. speedo dropping out and eml illuminating and a loss of power with no vtec. so now that i have removed the converter completely and the speedo is in kph the car performs perfectly. so so responsive and now with vtec in 1st gear the car is snappy and i can keep the car in vtec through all the gears better. jeeeez its quick. and to add, since owning the car with the new engine, i have not had to top it up with oil at all. no burning oil or leaks on the driveway. i think im back in love with this car again. i lost it for a bit and even thought about selling it. but .... no. its staying.

Re: Honda-Hardy's type "s" express
Small update on the kph mph issue.
Whilst sorting through some spares I stumbled upon a speed converter attached to the loom that came with the new engine. So I have removed the section of loom and spliced it into my loom. So now I have one connection to the vss with a converter inline giving mph but no vtec in first, and a connection with no converter giving kph and vtec in first.
