Double check those outputs directly from the rear of the alternator. I would expect them to be a little higher tbh.

Hi Chris, thanks for your input, those figures were off the battery terminals. I'll check the figures at the alternator either Friday or Saturday as I'm still volunteering during the week, the battery is only 12 months old, the 'nator probably 10 years, so this may need replacing. After leaving the battery on charge overnight, it was showing a healthy figure this morning. At night, the instrument panel glows slightly when the throttle is blipped, so the fault may not be total, but intermittent.
