Today I did some jobs I've been putting off on the Isuzu. I had bought a replacement mirror glass for the n/s mirror, so I got my soldering iron out and soldered the heater element wiring on to the new glass, and then fitted the mirror...

Not the neatest soldering but it works, so now after how ever long I've owned my truck I can actually see out the passenger mirror

Then as I walked away I noticed I had a nice slice around my nsr tyre

So I swapped the spare on instead (been meaning to do this for a while as the nsr was pretty bald anyway). Because I'm unable to complete any car maintenance without a blood offering, my fingers were crushed in the process, they still hurt now

Next up was replacing the power mast, I got the remnants of the old one out, but now the new one won't feed in. The motor is running and trying to draw the cable in, but for some reason it just doesn't engage the cable. Will have to strip the motor as my next course of action, that might be tomorrow's job.

With the above finished I then darted up to Arlington reservoir with Laura and our dogs. We went at about 4pm and the car park was deserted, wet and covered in leaves... 4x4 doughnuts anyone?

Probably need to swap those rears again now

So last few months i was about to compare evo 4/5/6 rear coilovers and prelude rear coilovers, and finaly i did it

i was pretty sure that evo coilys can be used as rears in prelude. And here it is , i did it today

only visual checks but looks like .... well you tell me

left: prelude ksports / right: evo 6 tein type flex

well yes i have two sets of prelude coilovers

so bottom mounts on prelude is 1 cm wider than evo. but there is nothing what welder would fix if it didnt fit

I wouldn't cut and weld such a critical part of the suspension, just asking for trouble.

Ps. It was more like a joke with welding. But a good profesional welder can do the job.

Spring rates for the EVO will be completely different to a prelude I would expect, so I'm not sure what that would do to the handling...
I take it you're not going to fit those tein's as they are, what with the (typical tein) drokked top mount?
