Well done mate. Got there in the end :D :rock: If there's anything else you need, just give us a txt. Now get a main dealer to give it a Honda 12 service, keep the history going ;) 8-) :lol:

Supposedly it had recently been serviced (though not at Honda) so should be golden. I'll have to check the paperwork when I collect it this weekend though.

@thebusofwoe It needs the handbrake adjusting - is it the same as ludes?
I'll be going up to get it on the train, so taking my full tool kit with me is not an option! :lol: I could stretch to the 10mm ratchet spanner and wheel brace though (all that's needed on a lude) ;)

Relatively yes. Remove one screw from cup holder centre console (at rear of console),lift the rear of the console up enough to get the socket set underneath, unwind the 12mm nut till end of thread (will req 12mm long socket, uj and 6inch extension). Get in drivers seat, start engine and kick brake pedal real hard 4-5 times. This re sets the internal dual stage mechanism in the calipers. Now adjust up the adjuster till it goes tight on around 2-3 clicks. ;)

Oh cool thanks - no need to do the wheels in the air, handbrake on 2 notches and wind the adjuster on till they just start to bite first. Result! Saves drokking about under the car in the street outside Blackpool footie ground on match day! :D

So to update on this...
Picked the Jazz up from @mercutio last weekend. Once again, thank you very very much for the help and was lovely to meet up with you. Hope the bottle is good stuff for you :D

Driven a Jazz 1 lots (which are very good) but this is the first time I've driven a Jazz 2 and it's even better. Seriously, if you're looking for a small car and you can afford a Jazz but don't buy one... Then quite frankly you're drokking mad! They are THAT good 8-)

Anyway, the long and short of the particular Cat C one I bought via dubious means is... :scaredtoss:

That I got a bloody bargain! :rock: The car is great. I'm very relieved (couldn't have been dumping Lisa's mum with a basket case :? )
Here she is;
Image
And that's the corner that was in the accident!
There are/where some things not quite right with it of course. All in techni-colour glory below;
Bonnet panel gap to wing not spot on
Image
Or with the passenger headlight
Image
But that's because;
Image
So easily sorted.

The curve of the wing doesn't line up exactly with the door, just needs adjusting on the bottom bolt but I didn't have time;
Image
Otherwise the panel gap is spot on;
Image
Can see it's been off/replaced though (top bolt isn't original :ugeek: );
Image

Nearside A pillar trim doesn't sit on perfectly;
Image

The paint on the A-pillar (part of the wing) wasn't finished very well (not rubbed down enough before colour coat) but hard to photograph and can only see up close;
Image
Paint on the leading edge of the drivers door is a bit scuffed (obviously didn't bother respraying that and I don't blame them - hardly noticeable);
Image
Image
There's a tiny scuff on the door itself too;
Image
And there's a 'mushroom' shaped area of paint on the wing that's off-colour (think it's over a spot of filler that wasn't prepped or primered properly);
Image
Repair to the offside corner of the bumper could have been done slightly better;
Image
For some reason the back plate was manky!
Image
Couple of scuffs on the boot around the rear washer jet down to the metal, so need touching in very quickly (nb: the original paint is quite thin on these cars!)
Image

Interior is lovely;
Image
Image
Except Nitin has obviously been in the boot at some point;
Image
And it needs a vacuum;
Image
And the drivers side seat belt bolt was loose/missing the bolt spacer.
Nearside rear view mirror scuffed and has been sorted with touch up paint (so pre-accident I think!)
Image

But they're all minor things really, it is a used car so what do you expect?! At the end of the day it's a 4 year old Jazz that's all straight and in solid and good condition, with only 30k on the clock and was literally half price!!! :D
Image
Image

Can't suss why it would have been Cat C, because the shell obviously didn't get damaged - inside near side arch all original/straight/no repairs;
Image
Image

So, had very limited time on the day and just sorted these few things for her;
New wiper blades all round with decent Bosch aeroblades (back was drokked, front ones were very worn);
Image
Drivers seat belt bolt and spacer replaced with the correct items;
Image
Handbrake adjusted (advisory on the last MOT and it was high).
Plate replaced;

So a few questions please...
@thebusofwoe
What's this spare plug for, behind the nearside headlight?
Image
It doesn't have a spare but does have the recess for one under the boot shelf, although this is lined. I'm guessing a space saver was an option and as standard it comes with the gas canister thingy that lives on the right hand side pocket in the boot, is that right?
Why hasn't the clock adjusted back an hour? Couldn't suss out how to adjust it and I assume it's meant to self adjust off the RDS???
Also, for the service... I would like it to start off with her with a Honda service, so I've looked what you get at Honda for £155 and tbh the only thing over and above what I've already done to the car is that it gets an oil change :lol: (which I do want it to have). But question... It says they check the antifreeze concentration... Would it be changed FOC if necessary as part of the £155 or would they just ring you up and say it needs doing, here's a bill for £45 if you want it done?! :lol:
Also, for the underframe check... There are a couple of clips missing from the undertray. Would a friendly Honda mechanic replace them FOC do you think or would that be another report and pay item (I think I know the answer of course, but one can only hope). Just that otherwise given I've already checked everything on the car, £155 for an oil change is a bit steep just to get a stamp in the (currently non existent) service book :lol:

And now unashamedly on the scrounge... :lol:
It needs an owners manual/service history pack (missing) a replacement tyre gas cannister (missing) and I'd like to get a full set of oem fabric mats and the rubber boot floor liner also.
Can @thebusofwoe or Claire ( @farlow ) possibly help out with any of those??? Maybe off a jazz that comes in for accident repair and gets written off maybe??? ;) ;) ;)

Hey chap. That connector looks like its for the leveling motor on the back of he headlight. Check to see if ifs got one and if its missing its connector. Yes the spare was an option, around £150 if memory serves me right. The clock is easaly set with the buttons, it shaded the words clock and M H R will be under the number buttons. The clock button is under one of the rds buttons (just hold it down and the clock will start flashing). They will charge you for a coolant change, But it will last 5 years before its required. They will probably also charge you for clips as i wouldnt. I can send you some if you like??? We can provide you a service book, but i would advise that the selling dealer fill it out with all the info ect. The trk bottle is around £35 i think, but dont hold me on that, and should live in the compartment on the right hand side behind a door thing. They have an exp date of usually 4-5 years. Unfortunatly we dont get anything in like that im affraid, either second hand or new accessorys will be the port of call there. I can get prices inc discount if you like???? Hope this all helps :D and nice looking motor that one 8-) :D

Thanks Merc - Lisa will have to do that, 'cause she's the only one with arsebook :D

thebus thanks for the info :facepalm: totally stumped how I missed the clock adjust now?!
if you could please get me a quote on the parts, that would be great. I tried to look them up on lings so I could get an idea, but it doesn't seem to list current models (searching by model, or by reg number)
:think: am I better off just getting the new service book through the original dealer rather than getting one and sending it to them to fill in the info? :think:
I need to get some touch-up paint for it to, to sort the paint damage around the rear washer nozzle. I suppose if I ask the dealer to touch that in during a service, they'll charge me labour for that too? :(
