It looks to me more like a bleed valve that's been over tightened and sheared off, in a very inaccessible place. Which is pretty horrible if true. I don't know what's as horrible looking to get to as that on a lude though... :think:

Ok... Good guesses but no banana I'm afraid, so I'll just spill...

What you can see there is a view down the back of the engine on my recently acquired CX (the one with the leather interior).
At the bottom (hard to make out) is on one side a driveshaft intermediate joint and opposite that, the back of the ali sump.
In between those 2 you can see the old oil pressure switch that I had replaced, nestling in a nice freshly formed hole in said sump. :evil: :troll:
