Guys, it takes a very long time to burn through any significant layers of lacquer/paint with a Dual Action polisher so don't be afraid of using it, plenty of great videos on YouTube on how to use them properly. A rotary polisher is much more efficient and therefore far easier to burn through paint with but in my experience you need to be really trying to cut through it with an aggressive paste and a heavy cutting pad like wool.

While you can't judge how thick the paint is without an expensive paint thickness gauge, If you're just getting rid of swirl marks, holograms, or reducing an orange-peel effect then 99% of the time you'll be fine, it's only when you start thinking about taking out the deeper scratches that you might start cutting through the lacquer.

Sorry for the lack of update.. I haven't had the chance to drive the Type-S let alone do anything to it.

I have managed to buy back the Retro fitted projector lights that Cebul made for me long long time ago, which I sold to Merc then he sold to Donald and now Donald back to me.. Circle of life..

Some where in transit, the projector and the black casing broke inside which was the reason Donald sold it to me for cheap. I managed to open them up, fix them up and now they look really good. I didn't get any pictures of the lights during the surgery. Did manage to give them a polish with Meguair's ultimate compound, ultimate polish and then top them up with ultimate Wax.

This is how they looked side by side (Old OEM lights vs Retro fitted Projector):

They look good. Why did you sell them in the first place, nits?

Thanks all.

The reason I sold them was, at that time they were on my JDM SIR (not this Type-S) and that was sadly written-off. At that point, I didn't know if I was going to get another Prelude so just sold off the parts. :)
