Limp mode h22
Post by jonja » Tue Oct 07, 2014 11:00 pm
Hi guys, ive got a big problem. My car went into limp mode. I just parked it and went to start it after about hour and limp mode was on. It has happened before but it went off after 20-30 min but this time its not coming off.
Ive checked
Several dizzys
Several map sensors(when unpluged car dies)
Injectors
Spark plugs, leads and spark by itself
Ecu
All temp sensors replaced
Petrol pump and pressure regulator
2x TPS sensors(when plugged or unplugged it makes no change)
When i do paperclip diagnostic it doesnt shows anything.
Any ideas guys? Cant rev over 4k rpms and it drinks 3x more petrol than usual, running really rich

Is that the same whether the engine is hot or cold, or only when it's hot?
it shouldn't be possible for the ecu to go into limp mode and put on the fault light, buy not store any fault codes I think, which could only mean one of 2 things?
1. When you do the paperclip test, are the abs and 4ws lights going into fault read mode ok or are they showing nothing either? If so, that suggests the service connector hasn't bridged properly (non conductive paperclip or not making good contact)
2. Ecu is buggeered. Do you have a spare you could swap it with?

Temperature doesnt affect it. It stays same all time
Yea when i plug it in my abs light goes off(got no faults) but check engine stays constantly on
I dont got any other ecu

Try another engine management ecu then.

Does sound like ECU but I would check the distributor timing as well.
When was the cambelt changed and did you replace the autotensione?

I had a similar issue on my lude It randomly went into limp mode. It turns out one of the connections to the ecu had some corrosion on it. I cleaned it up and not had a issue since.
